ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA—A Winthrop University student known for her beautiful voice
has tragically passed away.
Jasmine Elmore, a music education major from Orangeburg, South Carolina, died May
9 from an unknown medical condition. She was 20 years old.
“Her faculty members told me she had a wonderful voice, silenced now way too early,” Vice
President for Student Life Frank Ardaiolo wrote in a campus-wide e-mail. “We will
all miss her. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and faculty.”
The Home Going Celebration for Elmore is planned for Wednesday, May 16, at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 1481 Chestnut Street, Orangeburg, S.C.
