The Graduate School at Winthrop Expands Online Master’s Degree Offerings

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Winthrop University’s Graduate School will begin offering two new online Master of Education degrees this fall, adding to its already robust online program offerings. While both programs are already offered in person, adding an online format will be an ideal option for professionals in the workforce who need more flexibility. 

The new online offerings are:

*Master of Education in Educational Leadership: This program prepares participates to improve student achievement and act as powerful community collaborators who can advocate for students of all ages. The rigorous curriculum is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and is recognized by the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) program.

*Master of Education in Counseling and Development: This program allows participants to become more familiar with grief counseling, family counseling, school counseling and more. The curriculum is infused with real-world experience through practicums and internships completed under the careful guidance of engaged faculty and within the chosen concentration of school counseling or clinical mental health counseling. The program also boasts accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Winthrop’s online students enjoy access to the same benefits and support as on-campus students, including 24/7 tech support, student services and career services.

Other program updates

*The Master of Education in Learning Design & Technology program has pivoted to fully online. The program teaches participants how to design, develop and implement instructional materials and learning environments in face-to-face classes, online classes, or blended/hybrid learning environments. Join Dr. Marshall Jones for a virtual information session to discover how the 100 percent online Learning Design & Technology program, consisting of 30 credit hours (10 classes), can be completed in under two years, offering a flexible path to success.
