Prior to joining the faculty at Winthrop, Dr. Oakes taught courses in philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle University, University of Puget Sound, and California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. His research interests focus on the possibility and nature of human knowledge, the nature of time and material being, causality, and the logic of evil.
Dr. Oakes has published articles in refereed journals such as Erkenntnis, Metaphysica, and Process Studies.
