Undergraduate students interested in pursuing professional education in athletic training should select a major in Exercise Science with an Athletic Training Concentration (EXSC-AT). Students selecting the EXSC-AT may apply for admission into the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MS-ATRN) degree program during the junior year. Winthrop University welcomed its first cohort of the MS-ATRN in May 2023. Subsequent cohorts will begin each May.
Students who have completed a baccalaureate degree and have completed the required pre-requisite courses and observation hours may apply for admission into the MS-ATRN program.
The Winthrop University Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
