With more than a century of history, Winthrop University’s human nutrition program is the only program in South Carolina offering a bachelor’s in both dietetics and health promotion, an online master’s in human nutrition and a dietetic internship program. The faculty of the Department of Human Nutrition at Winthrop are devoted to innovative teaching practices to ensure that students are equipped to be leaders in the field of nutrition and dietetics. We embrace the many aspects of nutrition and dietetics such as foodservice management, sports nutrition, community nutrition, sustainable agricultural through our students driven community garden and food pantry, and medical nutrition therapy. Graduates from this program are sought after by local and regional employers due to their well-rounded educational background which is very hands on and skill development focused.
