WHEREAS, the mission of the Exercise Science Program is to provide students with sound
academic preparation in the science of human movement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed program will allow students to complete prerequisites required
for continued study in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant
programs; and
WHEREAS, the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science is a nationally recognized degree
in the discipline and will be eligible for accreditation by the Committee on Accreditation
for the Exercise Sciences under the auspices of the Commission on Accreditation of
Allied Health Education Programs; and
WHEREAS, local, state, and regional projections support high demand and need for exercise
science programs; and
WHEREAS, no additional resources above student tuition and fees will be required for
this program;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree
program be added.
