WHEREAS, the mission of the Interior Design Program is to provide students with sound
academic preparation in the specialized field of interior design; and
WHEREAS, the proposed program will provide students an opportunity to obtain fluency
in both traditional and state-of-the art practices of the profession; and
WHEREAS, the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design is a nationally recognized
degree in the discipline and will be eligible for accreditation by the Council for
Interior Design Accreditation; and
WHEREAS, local, state, and regional projections support high demand and need for interior
design programs; and
WHEREAS, no additional resources above student tuition and fees will be required for
this program;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree
program be added.
