Craig Gero

Welcome to Winthrop University.  My name is Craig Gero and I am excited to be a part of the Winthrop Admissions team!  I am from West Palm Beach, Florida.  I graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Business Personnel.  While at Florida Southern, I played on the National Championship Baseball team.  After graduation I worked in student services in a college setting for 26 years.  I believe that my experience provides me the ability to assist you in making your college decision.

Many factors go into your college decision.  You will spend more time outside the classroom while attending college.  I believe Rock Hill, South Carolina provides the perfect college environment for students to have the small town feel while living in the 5th largest city in South Carolina. We also are just a short drive from the large city of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Winthrop has exceptional academic programs, long traditions, small class sizes and a beautiful campus.  If you have not had a chance to visit our campus, I would suggest you come for a tour or a weekend event. In addition to the beautiful campus, Winthrop provides numerous opportunities for students to grow and acquire leadership skills that are helpful in today's world. Winthrop has a variety of clubs and organizations to help you to get involved.

During my career in higher education, I have learned that students can feel overwhelmed by the college decision process.  That is where I come in to help you.  Please do not hesitate to contact me no matter how small the question.  I look forward to meeting you and your family in the near future.  And remember, Go Eagles!!!
