What makes Winthrop special to you?
Winthrop has very small class sizes where faculty-mentor relationships nurture a personalized
learning environment for student success. These personal mentor relationships with
faculty is unique and not found at other schools that have graduate assistants teaching
courses.
What do you love about Winthrop?
Winthrop values diversity, global learning and inclusiveness. Winthrop University
leverages the diversity of its campus community to drive creativity, innovation and
critical thinking.
What is your favorite local restaurant in Rock Hill?
Rock Hill has a lot of great restaurants but the one I frequent the most is the Roasting
Company. I love the laid back atmosphere, proximity to Winthrop, outdoor dining and
daily specials. I definitely recommend the chicken nachos.
What is your favorite thing about Rock Hill?
Rock Hill has some of the best outdoor parks and sporting venues in the state! The
area has a river, lake, bike trails, velodrome, BMX competitive track, beautiful soccer,
baseball and softball fields. Large indoor facilities for basketball and volleyball
tournaments. Rock Hill also has wonderful golf courses and has been dubbed “Football
City USA.” For sport enthusiasts, Rock Hill offers great recreation facilities for
every activity.

Winthrop’s location near Charlotte and situated in one of South Carolina’s fastest
growing cities provides students great opportunities for internships and professional
development.
What advice do you have for students during their search process?
Students need to visit campus, speak with students and professors in order to choose
the university that will make them successful and provide the opportunities that they
are seeking.

Who is your Role Model? I have had lots of role models, mentors and people that I admire. My first and most
influential role models were my parents. They taught me a lot about the importance
of education, having a strong work ethic, discipline and integrity.
Favorite Hobby? I am a sports enthusiast. I enjoy watching and being a fan of many different types of sports especially college football, college basketball, soccer, baseball (both college and MLB), and softball. I have been known to watch nearly any sport on TV. I also love to read, watch movies, and work out at the gym. I am a fine art enthusiast and collector. I enjoy decorating, gardening and most of all spending time with my friends and family!
