The Jennie F. Rakestraw Student Success Fund was established to provide financial assistance for supplementary fees associated with specific program enrollment. Fees include costs such as certification requirements, conference attendance, research opportunities, and career support resources. Funds are only available to currently enrolled Winthrop University students in the following areas: College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences undergraduate and graduate students; Educational Studies minors; and Teacher Certification majors. Applicants must be in good standing with at least a 2.25 undergraduate or 3.0 graduate GPA. Individual awards do not typically exceed $250, dependent upon availability of funds, and can only be received one time.
Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and students will be notified once the application has been reviewed.
