Jennifer Kempka has been on the piano faculty at Winthrop University since 1999. She studied with Dr. Rodney Reynerson at Appalachian State University and with Dr. Eugene Barban at Winthrop University. Other former teachers include renowned Alfred composer Margaret Goldston and Dr. George Kiorpes, Professor Emeritus from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Kempka serves as instructor of piano, including class piano coordinator, and staff collaborative pianist at Winthrop where she accompanies numerous vocal and instrumental recitals yearly. She also serves as the Director of the Winthrop Academy of Music and has a piano studio within the Academy program. Kempka also serves as the Music Coordinator for the St-Arts program, an arts program for upstate South Carolina middle school students. In addition to her work at Winthrop, she is in demand as a collaborative pianist in the Charlotte and York County regions.
