INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Experience is the #1 thing that employers seek in qualified candidates. “Experiential education” (internships, significant volunteer experience, etc.) provides a glimpse into the world of work, allowing you to apply what you have learned in class and enabling you to build relationships with current professionals in a field of interest. Winthrop University and the University Career Center provide several avenues for you to pursue experiential education opportunities. Depending upon your major and the industry you are interested in working in you may select to pursue internships, practicum experiences, clinical or student teaching.

Most degree options in the College of Visual & Performing Arts offer the opportunity to complete an internship for academic credit toward the major. In order to get academic credit for an internship, students must meet certain pre-requisite requirements and complete a number of written assignments. Interested students should contact their advisor, Department Chair, or the Center for Career Development and Internships.

Current Internship Opportunities:

Springs Creative is currently seeking student interns for Spring and Summer 2025. These internships offer hands-on experience in a creative industry right here in Rock Hill!

With the upcoming launch of the College's new Design Center at the THREAD, this is an especially timely opportunity to strengthen our ties with industry and help students gain meaningful, real-world experience.

Internship areas include:

  • Illustration
  • Surface Art
  • CAD Art
  • Textile Pattern Design/Repeats
  • packaging design

These are part-time internships during normal business hours (8AM–5PM), with flexibility to accommodate student schedules. Interns will report to the Director of Retail Merchandising’s Senior Designer and Licensing Manager.

To Apply: Students should send their resumes directly to the hiring manager, Kate Kenny, at kate.kenny@springscreative.com.
