Jill O'Neill, piccolo specialist and flutist, has served as the Flute Professor at Winthrop University since 1996 and Music Lecturer at York Tech since 1997. Jill developed and instructs the Interdisciplinary Arts Performance and Production class ArtsLab at Winthrop, and has taught Music Appreciation, History of Rock-n-Roll, Sound Design and Music for Dance, as well as Percussive Tap Dance at St-ARTS middle school program. Jill has also served as a member of the Charlotte School of Rock faculty. She is the sound designer and composer for Shakespeare Carolina and has won "Outstanding Sound Design" and "Outstanding Original Musical Composition" five times in the Metrolina Theatre Association awards. She founded Palmetto Pipers Flute Club/Flute Choir in 2013, founded the music company Festivo Musique while in grad school, and was a founding member, dancer and choreographer of the dance company Moving Ophelia. Jill has performed with Opera Carolina, The Charlotte Symphony, The Augusta Symphony, Columbia Lyric Opera, Hilton Head Symphony, Greenville Symphony, Rock Hill Symphony Orchestra and many others. Jill performs in the band Space Daddy & the Galactic GoGos playing drums, flutes, keys and theremin, and plays drums in the surf band Tijuana Hit Squad. She also currently coaches, and teaches privately through Rock Hill High, Fort Mill High School, Catawba Ridge High School, Gold Hill Middle, Fort Mill Middle, Clover Middle, Oakridge Middle, York Prep Academy,Castle Height’s Middle, and Banks Trail Middle.   Her classical training was completed at West Virginia University, S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, and USC.
