The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is designed to prepare individuals who are seeking
initial certification to be a classroom teacher. Through field-focused learning in
school partnership settings, candidates demonstrate evolving skills in the domains
of diverse needs of learners, learning environment, technology, assessment, instruction
and learner engagement, literacy, and professional learning and ethical practice.
With concentrations in Studio Arts, Music, Theatre, or Dance, you will definitely
be prepared for the career of your choice!

Graduate Assistantships
Students have the opportunity to work in their departments and around campus as graduate assistants and associates.

Travel Support
Travel support is available for graduate student presentations or performances.
The Traditional Track covers a variety of subjects from professional core courses to courses specific to the graduate candidate’s content area. Through field-focused learning in school partnership settings, you will demonstrate evolving skills in the classroom.
