FAMILY DAY 2024 - October 5th - Canceled

Dear Winthrop Families,

The difficult decision was made today to cancel Family Day 2024 on Saturday, Oct. 5, due to the impact that Hurricane Helene has had on campus and throughout the state.  We are exploring potential options to reschedule and will share that information as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are working on fully refunding the cost incurred by anyone who registered and paid for Family Day. This may take a few days, but the refund is coming. Please stay tuned for more information.

If you have questions, please send them to FamilyprogramsGA@winthrop.edu. Again, refunds may take a few days, but they are on the way. Our thoughts are with our students and families that have been dealing with the impacts of Hurricane Helene and its aftermath.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,

New Student and Family Programs

Dear Family Members,

Welcome! We are thrilled that your student has chosen to attend Winthrop University. At Winthrop, we understand that when a student goes to college, a family goes to college. We know that you will be an important part of your student's collegiate experience and hope that, through our programs and services, you will receive the knowledge and tools to help support your student during this exciting and challenging time.

We hope that you will take advantage of our Family Orientation program that is offered in conjunction with Freshman Orientation, Full Day Transfer Orientation sessions, Fall Orientation, and Spring Orientation.

As Eagle Families you will receive our monthly e-newsletter to keep you informed.

We'd also like to encourage you to explore Rock Hill and the surrounding area. This is a great way to learn more about the city your student lives in, and you may find opportunities to spend time with your student.

If you have a question about Winthrop, our list of Frequently Asked Questions is a great place to start. If you can't find the answer to your question, please feel free to contact our office via e-mail at orientation@winthrop.edu or by phone at 803/323-2387.

At Winthrop, we view parents and family members of our students as partners in student success. If we can help you as you support your student throughout their career at Winthrop, please feel free to contact our office.  Good luck and best wishes!
