ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Winthrop University will host a U.S.-China Trade Dialogue and Local Business Opportunity Forum on Oct. 24 to discuss the trade concerns between the two countries.

Attending the event are the Chinese Embassy Minister Counselor Tian Deyou, his delegation, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, (R-S.C.) and key business leaders from South Carolina. The forum lasts from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Richardson Ballroom in the DiGiorgio Campus Center.

Deyou will give a keynote speech on strengthening China-U.S. trade dialogue and how to improve local economic/trade cooperation. There also will be remarks from Norman and a panel discussion featuring David Swenson, executive director of the York County Economic Development; Amy Thomson, director of international strategy and trade with the South Carolina Department of Commerce; and Rich Fletcher, president and CEO of the South Carolina I-77 Alliance.

The event is free and open to the public.

Hosts for the event are the Carolinas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Winthrop.
