Economic Forecast Breakfast Planned for Sept. 18

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and Winthrop University's College of Business Administration will host its annual Economic Forecast Breakfast featuring Senior Economist Mark Vitner on Sept. 18.

The free event will last from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Richardson Ballroom on Winthrop's campus. Vitner, managing director for Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, will provide his yearly analysis and predictions on global, national, regional and local trends impacting the economy.

Winthrop's Laura Ullrich, professor of economics and associate dean for undergraduate programs, also will offer some insight on York County's growth.

Vitner joined Wachovia (then First Union) in 1993 and is responsible for tracking U.S. and regional economic trends. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, he also writes for the company's Monthly Economic Outlook report, the Weekly Economic & Financial Commentary, and provides regular updates on housing markets, commercial real estate, regional economics and inflation. Prior to joining Wachovia and Wells Fargo Securities, Vitner was an economist for Barnett Banks in Jacksonville, Florida, for nearly nine years.

Vitner's commentary has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and many other publications. He also is a frequent guest on CNBC, CNN and National Public Radio.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Vitner holds a B.B.A. in economics from the University of Georgia, an M.B.A. from the University of North Florida and has completed further graduate work in economics at the University of Florida. Vitner also completed the National Association of Business Economics (NABE) Advanced Training in Economics Program at Carnegie Mellon University.
