ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Three finalists for the dean of Winthrop University's Dacus Library and Pettus Archives position will participate in interviews and public presentations between April 13-16.
Each candidate will participate in interviews with faculty, staff, administrators and students; each finalist will also give a presentation to Winthrop faculty, staff, students and interested community members via Blackboard Collaborate.
The finalists are:
Tim Schlak, dean and assistant professor at University Library, Robert Morris University, Moon, Pennsylvania. His open presentation will be Monday, April 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Kaetrena Kendrick, associate librarian at University of South Carolina Lancaster, Lancaster, South Carolina. Her open presentation is Wednesday, April 15 at 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Richard Hodges, director of Learning Resources, Thomas Nelson Community College, Hampton, Virginia. His open presentation will be Thursday, April 16, at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Feedback on each candidate will be solicited by way of electronic survey for those who participate in the interview process, said Jack DeRochi, dean of the Graduate School and associate vice president for academic outreach who is leading the 12-member search committee.
“While the circumstances are unique, we are very pleased to be able to present these virtual opportunities for our campus community to engage with these well-qualified candidates,” DeRochi said.
The library dean serves as chief academic and administrative officer of the library and archives, overseeing 23 library faculty and staff members.
The dean will report directly to the provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, sit as a member of the Academic Leadership Council, and support the University’s mission, vision, and strategic goals as a public, regional, comprehensive institution committed to increasing student success and inclusive excellence.
