ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – For the first time ever, Italian cars and motorcycles will roll into the Winthrop Athletics, Recreation and Research Area on Saturday, Nov. 18, to display their owners’ pride and joy in high-performance vehicles. The 16th Annual Motori Italiani will showcase vehicles known globally for excellence in design, engineering ingenuity and creative personality… not to mention price.
The event, dubbed a celebration of Italian motoring, is sponsored by Euro Prestige Imports and Visit York County. The free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
Athletics Director Chuck Rey coordinated the event logistics for Winthrop.
“This is an incredible opportunity to see up close high-end cars and bikes that we often only see speeding by in action and adventure movies,” Rey noted. “Winthrop is excited to have spectators with Italian motoring passion at our facilities, enjoying the beautiful lakeside venue and experiencing the Rock Hill community for the first time.”
Car owners are expected to enter their Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, FIAT, Lancia, Iso, DeTomaso, Ducati, Vespa, Aprilia, MV Agusta, Moto Guzzi, and other vehicles in the show held on the lawn overlooking the Winthrop Lake.
Organizers said the event will be a gathering to be enjoyed by both owners and the general public. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites in a number of classes, and awards will be presented to the winners.

Registration is $25 per vehicle – any additional vehicles from the same owner will be $15 for a second and $10 for a third. Deadline to register is Nov. 13.
