ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Rock Hill Mayor John Gettys and other city leaders will hold a May 8 Town Hall on the Winthrop University campus
to discuss their vision for the city's future.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Richardson Ballroom in the DiGiorgio Campus Center. It is free and open to the public.
Gettys, who was elected last fall when long-time Mayor Doug Echols retired, will give
a brief presentation regarding major projects and initiatives being undertaken by
the city, such as Knowledge Park and the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center. In addition,
the mayor will talk about the city's transit system and preview what the future holds
with planned development projects.
There also will be a question and answer time. For those who can not attend the Town
Hall, tune into WRHI 100.1 FM to hear it broadcast live.
The event is sponsored by the John C. West Forum on Politics and Policy and the Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
