ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Three finalists for the dean of Winthrop University's
College of Business Administration position will visit the campus for interviews and public presentations between Feb.
26 and March 9.
The finalists are:
Paul H. Schwager, associate professor of management information systems and associate dean at East
Carolina University's College of Business. He will visit from Feb. 26-28.
P.N. Saksena, professor of accounting and associate dean for graduate programs and accreditation
at the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South
Bend. He will visit the campus March 5-7.
H. Shelton Weeks, professor of finance and real estate, chair of the Department of Economics & Finance,
and program director for the Lucus Institute for Real Estate Development and Finance
at Florida Gulf Coast University's Lutgert College of Business. He will be at Winthrop
from March 7-9.
Each candidate will participate in interviews with faculty, staff, administrators
and students; each finalist will also give a presentation to Winthrop faculty, staff,
students and interested community members in the Tuttle Dining Room.

Debra Boyd, Winthrop University provost, commended the search committee members "for the work
they have done in bringing three excellent individuals to campus. We all look forward
to learning more from the candidates about their ideas and their capacity for leading
the College of Business Administration."
Members of campus and local communities are urged to attend the candidate presentations.
Feedback on each candidate will be solicited by way of electronic survey for those
who participate in the interview process, said Jennie Rakestraw, dean of the Richard
W. Riley College of Education, who is leading the 10-member search committee.
Winthrop's College of Business Administration is the academic home to more than 1,100 undergraduate students majoring in 15 areas
and more than 130 graduate students in its M.B.A. program. The college has a total
of 60 faculty members, of whom 44 are full time and 16 are lecturers who are practicing
business professionals from the surrounding metropolitan area. The college also houses
the regional office of the S.C. Small Business Development Center, providing strategic
support to entrepreneurs and business owners.
