Kevin Hughes, vice president for university advancement, chaired the 11-member search committee.
The university conducted a national search with search firm Myers McRae to find a qualified slate of candidates. “We feel confident that these finalists will yield the right person who will be able to understand and communicate the complexities of our budget, financial obligations and planning for the future,” said Hughes. “While this position is critically important to the financial health of the university, the selected candidate will play an even more pivotal role as managing Winthrop’s budget process and overseeing the production of a 10-year roadmap for facilities and computing and technology projects are two of the 12 initiatives in the first phase of the university’s new strategic plan that the selected candidate will be charged with spearheading for the next 12-18 months.”
Members of campus and local communities are encouraged to attend each candidate's public presentation as well as the meet and greet session. Feedback on each candidate is welcomed.
A tentative start date for the selected candidate is Jan. 2, 2025.
