ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Three finalists for Winthrop University's vice president for enrollment management and marketing position will interview on campus the weeks of July 12-16 and July 19-23.
The finalists are:
Christopher Dearth, vice chancellor for enrollment management at University of Virginia’s College at Wise
Joseph Miller, vice president for enrollment at LaGrange College
Kimberly Reilly, assistant vice president of enrollment at La Salle University
Winthrop Interim President George W. Hynd said the university conducted a national search to find a good fit for a vice president who can lead a division that effectively and creatively recruits some of the best and brightest prospective students to join the Winthrop family.
"Now more than ever, it’s important to have a vice president that understands the challenges many institutions of higher education are experiencing. Enrollment continues to be a concern at most institutions, including Winthrop, and we know that looking to the future we need to right-size our enrollment outlook given the trends we are seeing among our peers and experiencing first hand,” said Hynd.
Members of campus and local communities are encouraged to attend each candidate's presentation. Feedback on each candidate is welcomed, said Lisa Cowart, vice president for human resources, employee diversity and wellness, and Zan Jones, associate vice president for human resources and chief diversity officer, who co-chaired a 10-member search committee.
