ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Three finalists for Winthrop University's vice president for institutional advancement position will interview on campus the week of April 24-28.
The finalists are:
Evan Bohnen, associate vice president for development at Indiana University of Pennsylvania
Grady Jones, former vice president for advancement, marketing, public relations and communication
at Presbyterian College
Jon Schemmel, senior associate athletic director for development at the University of South Dakota
Winthrop President Dan Mahony said the university conducted a national search to find a good fit for a vice president
who can leverage the university's advancement opportunities.
The new vice president for institutional advancement will serve as the senior administrator
for the university's fundraising and alumni relations for the university and as a
member of Winthrop's Senior Leadership Group.
"Winthrop faces a pivotal period as we have embarked on a new strategic plan." said
Mahony. "We need a strong leader who can continue to cultivate and grow key relationships
with donors and friends of Winthrop."

Members of campus and local communities are encouraged to attend each candidate's
community reception. Feedback on each candidate is welcomed, said Athletic Director Ken Halpin, who headed a 17-member search committee.
