ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Winthrop University recently was named to Money Magazine's "Best Colleges for Your Money 2019."
This marks the second-straight year that Money Magazine has included Winthrop in its value rankings.
To determine the rankings, the magazine reviewed the nation's roughly 2,000 four-year
colleges and universities to discover which ones provide the best value for the money.
The magazine screened out those that have a below-average graduation rate, financial
difficulty, or fewer than 500 students, and then ranked the 744 that remained on 26
factors in three categories: educational quality, affordability and alumni success
and earnings. View the complete methodology.
Winthrop made the list of colleges and universities that made the final cut.
"Receiving this third-party endorsement by Money Magazine for two years in a row reinforces Winthrop's goal of keeping the cost of college within reach for families, a goal that is prioritized in the Winthrop Plan, the university's strategic plan. I appreciate Winthrop’s faculty and staff and members of the Board of Trustees for their efforts to ensure we offer a high quality educational experience that is accessible to all students," said President Dan Mahony.
