ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA Every fall the Winthrop University Dance Theatre Concert treats audiences to a full evening of works choreographed by faculty and guest artists,
featuring the best in modern, ballet and aerial dance.
This year, the concert will showcase a different element: an interdisciplinary collaborative
project among Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Claudia O'Steen, Instructor of Dance Julianna Hane and some of Hane's students.
"This will be an aerial dance piece, and my class will design sculptural fabrics that
will be on stage with the dancers as well as video projection," O'Steen explained.
Directed by Associate Professor of Dance Meg Schriffen, concert performances will be Thursday, Nov. 8-Saturday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m.; a special
outreach performance on Friday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.,
all in Johnson Theatre.
Tickets are $5 with a Winthrop ID or $10 to the general public. Tickets can be purchased
online or at the box office (Johnson Hall) between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.
