ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Each year, nearly 700 students apply for transfer admission to Winthrop University, attracted to the campus beauty, diversity, undergraduate research, commitment to civic engagement and more.

Winthrop University’s Office of Admissions has partnered with EAB to launch its new Transfer Credit Evaluator, a tool that will help transfer students explore potential majors, unofficially determine how credits will transfer and learn about the services they will have access to as a student.

“We’ve always had a strong commitment to our transfer students, and we recognize that they’re a vital and important piece in our campus community puzzle,” said Eduardo Prieto, vice president for access and enrollment management. “Our new Transfer Credit Evaluator reaffirms this commitment.”

Here’s how it works: A potential transfer student logs into the Transfer Credit Evaluator online portal, inputs his or her current/past institution(s) and courses, and, within moments of submitting their courses, receives the number of units that transfer to a number of Winthrop programs. He or she can then explore majors of interest and track how their courses would articulate.

“We’ve often heard from potential students that they would like to better track and determine how their past courses would articulate to credits here at Winthrop,” Prieto said. “We know our new Transfer Credit Evaluator will help this process and create a more seamless transition to becoming a Winthrop Eagle.”
