Dear Colleagues:
I hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and well.
I want to thank you for your flexibility and commitment to students during this challenging time. I've been so impressed with the resiliency that the Winthrop community has shown. I also appreciate the support that you have shown me during my short time on the job.
We were wrapping up this edition of the spring Winthrop Magazine when COVID-19 became a worldwide health crisis. I still want to share the compelling content that you'll find inside because it reinforces all of the great work that our students, faculty, staff and alumni undertake.
This Winthrop Magazinebegins with a look at several pre-COVID-19 faculty- and staff-led international trips that gave our students life-changing experiences. Other items include:
The successful men's basketball and volleyball seasons that resulted in Big South Championships.
Compelling profiles on former soccer players turned entrepreneurs Alex Isern '12 and Marc Segarra '13; former tennis player and now tax professional Ana Simanca Hayden '05; and artist and educator Karen Oremus of the fine arts faculty.
A look at some of our recent highlights, and news from the areas of university advancement and alumni relations.
I encourage you to explore the magazine by clicking on the link above. Please share the magazine with anyone who may be interested in all that is happening at Winthrop.
Thank you again for all that you do for Winthrop, and I look forward to talking with you soon.
Sincerely,
George
