WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University reserves the right to honor donors who are enthusiastic about the University’s mission and importance to the region, as well as those who wish to leave a legacy to the University, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University desires to define the roles of the Board of Trustees and University administration in the management of naming opportunities, to ensure consistency in the naming of facilities, units and positions across the institution and establish naming and re-naming principles that reflect the University’s values.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University as recommended by the Committee on Institutional Advancement and Development, adopt the Policy for Naming University Facilities, Units and Positions.
