WHEREAS, in accordance with Board Bylaws, the Executive Committee met on June 10, 2022 to conduct the annual performance review of the President of Winthrop University as mandated by the State Agency Head Salary Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee reviewed the responses to the State Agency Head Performance Survey submitted by the individual Trustees and reviewed the President's performance in terms of the Performance Planning Objectives; and
WHEREAS, under the guidance of President Hynd, Winthrop University received positive results from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges Reaffirmation Process including Flight Ready: A Career Readiness Quality Enhancement Plan designated as Winthrop’s Quality Enhancement Program; and
WHEREAS, working closely with senior leadership, President Hynd continued the work on the comprehensive job classification and employee compensation study and identified financial resources to begin to address compensation issues among the faculty and staff; and
WHEREAS, President Hynd oversaw the campus response to the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, finalization of the Winthrop Plan, finalization of the Campus Facilities Master Plan, and a continuation of the Campus Beautification Plan; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees at Winthrop University that in its formal evaluation of the performance of Dr. George W. Hynd as Interim President of Winthrop University to be submitted to the State Agency Head Salary Commission, President Hynd will receive a rating of 4.6
