WHEREAS, Dr. Kimberly Faust, Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Board of Trustees, and Vice President for University Communications and Marketing, for nearly two decades in myriad capacities, dutifully served Winthrop University and the Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Faust joined the Winthrop University community in 2004 when she was appointed Executive Assistant to the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees by the institution’s ninth President Anthony J. DiGiorgio, ultimately earning the positions of Chief of Staff in 2013 and Vice President in 2018; and
WHEREAS, based on Dr. DiGiorgio’s evaluation of her service and contributions to his administration, she was granted tenure in 2012 and promoted from associate to full professor; and
WHEREAS, her dedicated service spanned four Winthrop Presidents, Dr. Anthony J. DiGiorgio, Dr. Jayne Marie Comstock-Williamson, Dr. Daniel F. Mahony, and, current President, Dr. Edward A. Serna ’02; and
WHEREAS, her impact on the community will be felt for years to come through her notable service on the York County Council on Aging board, United Way of York County board, Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation quality of life committee, and Early Learning Partnership board, among others; and
WHEREAS, she regularly bestowed on her colleagues in the executive suite and other favored individuals sumptuous treats that reflected her uniquely wonderful baking skills;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University does hereby gratefully acknowledge the tireless service and dedication that has been demonstrated by Dr. Kimberly A. Faust to Winthrop University and the York County community and this citation is a testament to her contributions and achievements.
