WHEREAS pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §59-125-1, et. seq., the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University is created and established as a body corporate for the purpose of effectuating the educational mission of Winthrop University.
WHEREAS pursuant to the Winthrop University Board of Trustees Bylaws art. II, sec. C, it is the Board of Trustees’ duty to approve the creation and modification of academic programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on April 25, 2024, the Winthrop University Board of Trustees hereby adopts the following changes to the academic programs, classified into New Programs, Modifications, and New Concentrations.
1. The creation of a new academic program created as the Master of Arts in Education
in Educational Studies;
2. A modification to the Master of Science in Accounting and Analytics from the Master
of Business Administration in Accounting and Analytics;
3. A modification by merger of existing music programs into the Masters of Music;
4. A modification to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the Bachelor
of Arts in Art Education
5. A modification to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design with a Concentration in
Game Design from a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design with a Concentration
in Experience Design;
6. A modification to the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a Concentration in Acting
from a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a Concentration in Performance;
7. A new concentration of Bachelor of Professional Studies with a Concentration in
Community and Health Services;
8. A new concentration of Bachelor of Professional Studies with a Concentration in
Health Informatics;
9. A new concentration of Bachelor of Professional Studies with a Concentration in
Organizational Operations;
10. A new concentration of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a
Concentration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management;
11. A new concentration of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Concentration
in Pre- Law;
12. A new concentration of Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies with
a Concentration in Pre-Law.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary to the Board of Trustees shall certify that the Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved this resolution on April 25, 2024, in a regular meeting scheduled by the Winthrop University Board of Trustees. Such resolution shall be maintained and publicly posted by the Secretary of the Board in a time and manner as required by law.
