WHEREAS pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §59–125–1, et. seq., the Board of Trustees of Winthrop
University is created and established as a body corporate for the purpose of effectuating
the educational mission of Winthrop University.
WHEREAS pursuant to the Winthrop University Board of Trustees Bylaws art. IV, §H, it is the
Board of Trustee’s duty to oversee and set policies for the governance of the University,
including the determination of housing rates.
WHEREAS the demand for on-campus housing has necessitated the re-introduction of Roddey Residence
Hall to adequately provide for the residential needs of the student population.
WHEREAS it is necessary to adjust the housing rates to reflect the current market conditions,
ensure the quality of student accommodations, and maintain the financial health of
the University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on April 25, 2024, the Winthrop University Board of Trustees hereby adopts the
following rates for student housing for the academic year 2024–2025:
Roddey 2/1: $2,483
Roddey 1/1: $2,641
Margaret Nance: $3,243
Lee Wicker, Phelps, Thomson: $3,464
Courtyard 4/2: $3,929
Courtyard 2/1: $4,468
Courtyard 2/2: $4,638
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary to the Board of Trustees shall certify that the Winthrop University
Board of Trustees approved this resolution on the 25th of April, in a regular meeting
scheduled by the Winthrop University Board of Trustees. Such resolution shall be maintained
and publicly posted by the Secretary of the Board in a time and manner as required
by law.
