WHEREAS, Mr. Robby Sisco ’80 served with distinction on the Winthrop Board of Trustees for six years as the representative for Congressional District 7; and
WHEREAS, during his time on the board, the Florence resident served as a knowledgeable member of a number of past and current committees, including the ad hoc governance committee, the bylaws committee, the nominating committee, and the student life and athletics committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sisco had an illustrious career and retired as senior vice president of human resources for the Cabot Corporation, a global specialty chemicals and performance materials company, and prior to that for nearly 20 years he served DuPont at a number of locations across the United States in a variety of manufacturing, operations and human resource professional and management positions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sisco earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Francis Marion in 1978 and then a Master of Science degree in personnel and industrial relations from Winthrop in 1980; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sisco has been an exemplary example of an alumnus committed to varied community service activities and has shown a great passion for the benefits of Greek life which he still enjoys today; and
WHEREAS, during his time at Winthrop, Mr. Sisco was active in many organizations, including the Dinkins Student Union, the Model United Nations, the Student Government Association, the Interfraternity Council and the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity; and
WHEREAS, for his many contributions to Pi Kappa Alpha, he was inducted into the Order of West Range, which honors the fraternity’s lifetime achievement award recipients, and he remains involved locally in his community with the Pee Dee Pikes; and
WHEREAS, he has used the knowledge, skills and abilities gained from his varied experiences at Winthrop to consistently make positive impacts on the lives of others;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Trustees, the President, and the Winthrop University faculty, staff and students do hereby convey their deep respect and profound gratitude to Mr. Robby Sisco, and do commend him for outstanding meritorious service to the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University.
