Gold Tree

Gold Tree is Whichard’s first large-scale permanent outdoor sculpture. The piece stands 20 feet tall. In 2012, Whichard earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting and sculpture. While a student at Winthrop, he had solo exhibitions in Winthrop’s student galleries as well as the Beam Gallery in Dallas, N.C. He participated in group exhibitions in the Carolinas and received a Purchase Award from the Gaston County Museum of Art and History.
