The History major is frequently chosen by students who wish to pursue careers in such fields as teaching, law, library and archival work and journalism, as well as in areas less directly related to the study of history, including fields in business and industry.
The Individualized Studies major is designed for students whose academic interests reach across or beyond the major programs at the university. Students design their plan of study tailored to their own needs and career interests.
The Social Studies Education major prepares students for teaching social studies at the high school level. Students gain experience in public school classrooms while completing coursework in history and social sciences to prepare them to teach a wide range of social studies courses.
