Financial Markets Seminar (BADM 402/602)
All students are required to complete an eight-hour on-line course from Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC). The course is a self-paced e-learning course that provides a visual introduction to the financial markets. BMC consists of 4 modules — Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income and Equities — woven together from Bloomberg data, news, analytics and television. Successful course completion is required three weeks prior to the trip departure date.
All students will be required to attend two Sunday sessions prior to the trip. The first session is an orientation to the Bloomberg Market Concepts terminals. The second session includes presentations by the graduate students.
Graduate students will be required to prepare and present a paper.
During the trip all students must attend daily lectures on a variety of aspects of the Financial Markets from US Government officials, Wall Street analysts, and others including:
All students will earn three semester hours of class credit as an elective.
In addition, students should take advantage of the culture and nightlife of New York City.
