Advising and Registration

Advising

Before you can register for classes, you must be advised by the MBA Office. The MBA Graduate Assistants are trained in the advising and registration process and know specific details that will help you select the appropriate courses for your degree program and your expected graduation date. Some MBA classes are only offered once a year, and many classes serve as prerequisites for other MBA classes, therefore it is important to be advised in order to say on track, complete classes in the correct order, and avoid any unwanted surprises at graduation time.

You can be advised:

  • in person at our office, 213 Thurmond Building
  • over the phone
  • via e-mail

To schedule an advising appointment call us at 803/323-2409 or e-mail mbaoffice@winthrop.edu.

Registration

After you have been advised, the MBA office will remove your advising hold and you will be able to register for your classes via Wingspan.

Please note: the MBA office cannot register you for classes; you must sign into Wingspan and register yourself. The university has begun using a new student information system, and the new system does not allow anyone to put you into a class - you have to log in and register for the class.

You will not be able to register for a class if:

  • you have not been advised
  • you have not completed the required prerequisites
  • you have an outstanding balance on your student account
  • you are a new student and have not submitted your health and immunization records

If you have difficulty registering contact us via e-mail or call 803/323-2409. If we cannot assist you we will refer you to the appropriate campus department.
