Meet the 2024 - 2025 President
Sean Pennington (Student Body President)
Sean is a senior mathematics major with a minor in educational studies. He is from
Lexington,
SC. Sean has been an annual member on the Council since the fall 2021. In his time
on the
Council, he has served as the Internal Committee Chair, Secretary on the Executive
Committee
and is currently the Chair of the Council. Sean is very involved on Winthrop’s campus
as he is a
Close Scholar, President of the 2021 Cohort of Teaching Fellows, President of Pi Kappa
Phi,
and has served as an Orientation Leader for two years. He enjoys playing intramural
sports with
his friends on campus and volunteering in the Rock Hill community. Sean loves Winthrop
University and has a passion for serving others and inspiring future leaders.
Meet the 2024 - 2025 Vice President
Victoria Williams (Student Body Vice President)
Victoria is a junior biology major with a minor in chemistry. She is from Columbia,
SC. VIctoria
has been an annual member of the Council since Fall 2022. During her involvement with
the
Council she has served as Campus Safety Chair and is currently the Vice Chair of the
Council.
Around campus, Victoria is currently involved as a Close Scholar, Coordinator of the
Diversity
Peer Educator Program, and member of the Xi Beta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc.
Victoria enjoys spending time with friends and serving in the community.
Zoë Jackson (Secretary)
Zoë is a biology major with a minor in educational studies from Columbia, SC. She
has been an
annual member on the Council since the fall of her freshman year, and previously served
as the
Residence Education Representative. She is very involved on Winthrop’s campus as she
is a
Close Scholar, Teaching Fellow, FYE peer mentor, the president of Winthrop University’s
Honors
Association (WUHA!), and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society. She is
deeply
committed to enhancing the Winthrop community because of her love for the university
and the
sense of belonging she has found on campus.
Nerena Gause (Student Allocations Administrator)
Nerena Gause is a Junior Social Studies Education major from Loris, South Carolina. Since her freshman year, Nerena has been heavily involved in different organizations to serve Winthrop's community. She is a Teaching Fellow, Winthrop Ambassador, Resident Assistant, and she served as the Council of Student Leaders Representative for the Association of Ebonites last year. Nerena’s passion for education has allowed her to establish relationships with her first year residents as well as future eagles on campus tours. It is very common to see Nerena in the dining hall, residence halls, and campus center hanging with friends and socializing. Nerena looks forward to making a lasting impact and connection with the future leaders of Winthrop’s campus and giving back to the community she loves.
