Managing the campus landscape and keeping it free from clutter supports the Winthrop
brand. The following information addresses use of event signs placed outdoors on campus.

A limited number of 24”x36” poster stands are available in select locations and managed
by Printing Services in 105 McBryde. Posters in these stands are typically promotional
in nature. These stands are reserved via our website. Review the campus map to see their locations. Posters must be purchased in Printing Services using the
Printing Services Printing Request Form. Designs can vary depending upon the event. Stands are available on a first come,
first serve basis.
Lawn signs (24”x18”) are acceptable on campus only if used for directions to parking or event location identification. Custom lawn signs should be ordered from Printing Services via the Custom Lawn Signs order form. Printing Services requires two weeks to produce custom lawn signs for events. If you do not have time or the budget for a custom lawn sign, you may rent generic event parking lawn signs from Printing Services (see below for information on generic rental signs).
Lawn signs may only be installed 24 hours prior to the event start by the event organizer and must be removed by the event organizer immediately following the event. Event organizers should reuse signs year to year when possible. Signs not removed will be discarded by the Winthrop University Police Department. Signs not produced by Printing Services, balloons, other attachments, and signs that do not follow the outlined rules will be removed by the Winthrop University Police Department.
Printing Services has a stock of single-sided event parking signs available for rent. These are helpful if you do not have the time, budget or inclination for custom lawn signs. The rental cost for these signs is $5 per sign. The generic signs may be reserved by completing the Generic Rental Lawn Signs form. The signs will be available for pick-up the last business day before your event during normal business hours. Rental signs must be returned the next business day following your event during normal business hours. If signs are not returned on the first business day following your event, you will be charged $20 for each sign.
