To expand students' knowledge of different cultures and gain and global perspective, the Close Scholars Program includes group travel experiences. Scholars build confidence and learn the norms and mores of international travel through chaperoned and educational partner-led cultural immersion trips. While abroad, Scholars take classes at a host institution and partner with a community agency to gain volunteer hours. Scholars also reflect on their experiences via an essay, blog, vlog, or presentation to connect study abroad and service-learning experiences with broader social development and global issues.
