Students may pursue two different degree programs in Economics at Winthrop: a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics. Those choosing the B.S. program will complete a core of College of Business and Technology courses along with their classes in economics. Those opting for the B.A. program will take fewer business classes and will supplement their economics classes with a minor and free electives that can be used to customize their curriculum to their individual interests and talent.
During the first two years, students concentrate on a broad liberal arts education. In their junior and senior years, students will complete courses in the major and either business core courses for those in the B.S. program, or courses in their minor and electives for those pursuing the B.A.
A minor in economics also is available.
