How to Apply
The Schwab Foundation Financial Planning Development Program accepts up to 15 students
per academic year.
Students must meet the following standards to be admitted into the program:
- Admission into Winthrop University
- Major in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Planning.
- History of active participation in academic and non-academic extra-curricular activities
- Specific GPA and testing or course requirements
- Freshman Students:
- ≥3.0 high school GPA
- Score at least a 500 on the MATH-SAT or 18 on MATH-ACT
- Current Winthrop Students:
- Completed at least one semester at Winthrop
- ≥3.3 Cumulative GPA
- No lower than a B- in Accounting courses
- Transfer Students:
- ≥3.5 Cumulative GPA or 3.3 GPA with B average in all quantitative courses
- No lower than a B- in Accounting courses
Applications are now being accepted. Once 15 students have been accepted into the
program, other qualified candidates are placed on a waiting list.
