Winthrop University has subscribed to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) maintained at the University of Miami for provision of required training in the areas of Human Subject Research, the Care and Use of Animals in Research, Biosafety, and Responsible Conduct of Research.
You will begin the process by clicking "Register" under the "Create an account" heading in the blue box on the right side of the page.
You will be asked to create a username and password. Please understand that the GSRD Office will have access to this information and you should not use a password that you also use for other Web sites. Make a note of your username and password!
You will be asked to affiliate with an institution and you should select Winthrop University. Please note that there is a Winthrop University Hospital right after Winthrop University. Make sure you select the correct institution.
When indicating your first and last name, please use the name that will appear on protocol submissions you make to the IRB, IACUC and/or Biosafety Committees. Do not use nicknames or shortened versions of your name.
CITI has done an excellent job of streamlining the process of signing up for training. Just
follow the steps and if you have any questions, contact Michele Smith.
At the conclusion of Step 7, you will be asked to finalize the registration. Once you have finalized the registration, you will need to log into the system using the username and password that you have set up. Once you login, you will be able to access the training modules according to the choices you made when you registered.
