Greetings from Graduate Studies at Winthrop! Whether you are returning to higher education after some time away or have recently received your undergraduate degree, we are glad that you are considering our university for graduate studies. Having conferred our first master's degree in 1912, Winthrop University has a rich history of graduate education. Today, students can choose from over 40 programs of study from a wide variety of subject areas in education, business, arts, and sciences.
Winthrop is a distinctive teaching university and, as such, offers graduate students the opportunity to pursue their academics and professional development in an enriching environment-one where faculty and students together reap the benefits of small classrooms and one-on-one mentoring relationships. Students who decide to pursue their graduate work with us do so because they desire a national-caliber graduate program delivered by expert faculty who value both research and teaching. Because of our emphasis on student learning, we recognize the needs of our students who must manage their coursework along with other professional and personal responsibilities. As a result, we offer many classes in the evening, on the weekend, and online in order to accommodate students' busy schedules.
I invite you to explore our website for more information about our programs and visit our beautiful campus if you can. We would enjoy learning about your future plans and how graduate studies at Winthrop can help you achieve your goals. Please contact us if you have any questions and, if you want to learn more about our community, be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
We look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Dr. Jack DeRochi, Dean of the School of Graduate, Continuing, and Online Education
