Benefit Chapters

Federal Department of Veterans Affairs Education Benefits

Note: Federal VA education benefits DO NOT pay for upfront costs, such as housing, meal plan, or parking, and most do not include tuition, academic fees, and books/supplies. All federal VA benefits include a monthly stipend that the VA pays directly to students AFTER Winthrop’s payment deadline and classes start. Students approved for VA benefits should be prepared to pay upfront costs and make arrangements to pay their Winthrop bill by the payment deadline to avoid having their courses dropped or being charged late fees. Click on the benefit chapter for more information about how your education benefit works at Winthrop.
