Mikayla Sengle

Originally from Upstate New York, Mikayla moved to North Carolina to attend Queens University of Charlotte, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Shortly after, she attended Winthrop University and received her Masters of Education in Counseling and Development.

While pursuing her degree at Winthrop, Mikayla was a TRiO academic counselor for two years. Once she graduated, she accepted a position as the Academic Success Center's, Academic Coach. She recently transitioned into her new role, Director of the Academic Success Center.

In addition to her work at Winthrop, Mikayla coaches Northwestern Varsity Cheerleading. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, reading, and spending time with her fiancé and six animals.

Whitney Jennings

Originally from Arkansas, Whitney attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development.  She went on to earn a Master's in Counseling from Walden University.  With five years of experience as a therapist, Whitney brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role of Academic Coach.  She is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

In her free time, Whitney enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and beloved dog, Princess.

Benjamin Barr

Originally from Upstate New York, Ben attended the State University of New York at Oswego, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in German Language & Literature and Audio Recording & Production in 2021. Ben is currently enrolled at Winthrop University and is working towards his Masters of Social Work.

He completed his generalist internship here at the Academic Success Center and has returned for his specialized placement, along with taking on the graduate associate position. Ben is also the treasurer for the WU Masters of Social Work Association (MSWA).

In his free time, he enjoys going for hikes, making music, paying video games, reading, and watching football.

Sera is a Senior Political Science, Psychology and French major preparing to graduate in December 2024. Sera loves cats, cooking, and playing video games in their free time.
