Winthrop University remains a South Carolina higher education institution leader in turning out the student vote in national elections, according to Washington Monthly. Winthrop is among the top 230 colleges/universities in the Student Voting category of the 2022 Washington Monthly College Rankings and is one of only four institutions listed from the Palmetto State. Winthrop University is one of more than 200 U.S. campuses designated as a “Voter Friendly Campus.”
The initiative, led by national nonpartisan organizations Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project (CVP) and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, held participating institutions accountable for planning and implementing practices that encourage their students to register and vote in 2020 elections and in the coming years.
