Since fall 2009, the West Forum has been a proud sponsor of the Winthrop Poll. The Winthrop Poll began in 2006 under the direction of Dr. Scott Huffmon. Conducted at least two times a year, the Winthrop Poll asks South Carolinians and Southerners about their opinions on a variety of social topics of the day. From abortion to gay marriage to the economy, the poll seeks to identify long term trends and changes in opinion in the state and the region. As such, the Winthrop Poll shares the West Forum's mission of promoting civic engagement and an informed citizenry in the state.
