Prepare to move into the field with hands-on nutrition focused physical assessment. Our faculty have extensive experience in clinical settings, ensuring you receive training on the most evidence-based techniques.
Developing effective nutrition interventions is one of the most employable skills a dietitian can have. Our students develop and implement their own 5-week nutrition intervention program supervised by a faculty member.
While dietitians don’t always do the cooking, understanding how to plan and cook meals for 50 or more is a huge challenge. In our department, students practice on campus by hosting faculty for themed meals.
One-on-one counseling is likely what you think about when you picture a career as a dietitian. With us, you will develop your book knowledge and then experience managing your own client through three weeks of supervised counseling.
Graduates also earn a DPD Verification Statement and a ServSafe Manager certification, ensuring that you are prepared to step into a career that you love. Not that you

the 2024-2025 academic year.
We end up loving our students, and so we want to do whatever we can to encourage them to complete their dietetics training with us! All students who matriculate through Winthrop’s DPD Program are also eligible to apply for the Winthrop MS/DI through an early acceptance preselect process. This process allows students to apply to Winthrop’s MS/DI four months early!
